Stuff The Truck
FCS Food Pantry will again sponsor a "Stuff The Truck" food collection event. It is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 23. More information to come.
Why the Food Pantry is so important
Hi,
My name is Anne Bloom. I originally contacted Amy Yates, at Coordinated Services Planning, who took my information and put me in touch with the Falls Church Community Services Council. Through everyone's effort, I was able to receive a delivery of food this morning. As the couple who delivered the food are my person-to-person contact, I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you. You came to my door and greeted me nicely, with no preconceived notions or prejudices. It was just accomplished very humbly but quite nicely. I have some other roommates living here, but some did not even know you were here. Then you complimented me on the flowers! I am very sorry that I did not shake your hands. Thank you so much.
I have early onset Alzheimer's and was told I could not drive. At this point, I am able to get around by walking or the bus or MetroAccess, but sometimes grocery shopping has not worked out.
So thank you to everybody who helped me out.
Anne Bloom
Saint Patrick's Yard Sale & Flea Market
On September 19, St. Patrick's will hold its major fund raiser to help gather money for the matching grant we have received from the Diocese. Now is the time to take a look around and see what things you might be itching to get rid of. Books, games, movies, clothes, small appliances, electronics, household items, etc. are welcome. More information will be coming about this event as the date gets nearer. Pastoral Search Prayer
Our Heavenly Father:
Your love for us is unfailing. You have blessed this church -- a caring community where all are welcome and each is valued. Renew our faith during this time of transition.
Be with our pastoral search committee. Give them unity of purpose, and help them listen carefully to your voice. Let us be mindful that you are calling the right person to shepherd your flock at St. Patrick's.
All this we ask in the name of your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen
Please feel to reach the Search Committee via email (stpatsearch2014@gmail.com) or in-person.

Seventh Sunday after Pentecost
Texts:
First Reading: Amos 7:7-15 Psalm 85:8-13
Mark 6:14-29
Collect:
O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that they may know and understand what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
