Clean-up Day If you are interested in helping to clean up around the church, please contact a vestry member and we will work on rescheduling a new day.
Resolution Honoring The Rev. Tinh T. Huynh Whereas: The Rev. Tinh T. Huynh (hereinafter "Fr. Tinh") served St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in several capacities (Seminarian, Assistant Vicar and Rector) for over twenty years; and, Whereas: Fr. Tinh earned and is enjoying his retirement in New Jersey; and, Whereas: Fr. Tinh continues to show his love and concern for St. Patrick's Episcopal Church; and, Whereas: Fr. Tinh has provided priceless help to his successor priests; and, Whereas: The Congregation of St. Patrick's Episcopal Church continues its strong affection for Fr. Tinh; now, therefore, be it Resolved: That the Vestry of St. Patrick's Episcopal Church does hereby name Fr. Tinh as "Rector Emeritus" of St. Patrick's Episcopal Church: and, be it further Resolved: That an appropriate certificate announcing this honorary title is authorized by the Vestry of St. Patrick's Episcopal Church; and, be it further Resolved: That copies of said Certificate will be forwarded to Fr. Tinh and to the Bishops of the Diocese of Virginia and that the Certificate will also be displayed in a prominent place at st. Patrick's.
--Unanimously approved by the Vestry ofSt. Patrick's Episcopal Church on May 12, 2015.
Note from Father Tinh It was such a thrill to receive from Fr. Bernie the copy of the resolution naming me "Rector Emeritus" of Saint Patrick's! I am so thankful for the years I served at our church, and I am grateful to the Vestry for the love and support I received. I would like to thank the Vestry for the honorary title. May God bless Saint Patrick's, and may it continue to thrive and to proclaim Christ's love to the world.

Note from Father Bernie On March 1st, the Vestry and I applied for a Peter James Lee Small Church Revitalization Grant in the amount of $25,000.00; this is to be matched by a like amount from any parish that receives the Grant. I am pleased to report that the Diocese of Virginia has, indeed, awarded this Grant to St Patrick's! We have certified to the Diocese that we already have raised $12,000.00 toward our matching goal of $25,000.00; in return, the diocese is sending us a check for $12,000.00!
Now we must raise the remaining $13,000.00 to receive a like amount from the Diocese. With a total of$50,000.00, we are doing a much-needed renovation of the educational/administrative wing of the church (new windows, new partitions, new carpeting and the like). Can you help? If every parishioner on the books renewed his/her attendance at the church and gave according his/her ability, we could easily reach our goal. Not only is this important work in literally building the church of God, it is important that we grow our membership (and finances) as well to be a viable House of God in the future.
Those wishing to make a contribution can make checks payable to Saint Patrick's Episcopal Church with "Matching Grant" in the memo line. Contributions may be mailed to Saint Patrick's or placed in the alms basin. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Fundraiser In an effort to help raise funds for the matching grant, Saint Patrick's will hold a Yard Sale/Flea Market on Sept. 19th. Please consider possible donations of goods to this event. More information to follow.
Picnic On July 25th, there will be a joint effort picnic with Saint Paul's and Baileys Crossroads Homeless Shelter. It will be held at Saint Paul's. More information to follow.
Pastoral Search Prayer
Our Heavenly Father:
Your love for us is unfailing. You have blessed this church -- a caring community where all are welcome and each is valued. Renew our faith during this time of transition.
Be with our pastoral search committee. Give them unity of purpose, and help them listen carefully to your voice. Let us be mindful that you are calling the right person to shepherd your flock at St. Patrick's.
All this we ask in the name of your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen
Please feel to reach the Search Committee via email (stpatsearch2014@gmail.com) or in-person.
