Saint Margaret's Meeting Saint Margaret Quilt Ladies will meet Sunday, June 7 after church. We will be making prayer quilts, quilts for children, and pillow cases to be sold at our yard sale. Please join us after church Sunday for a light lunch and sewing.
Dear Friends of St. Patrick's, The Search Committee would like to thank all who attended and participated in last Sunday's Congregational Information Meeting. Your testimonies recalling difficult times and wonderful memories will be helpful in our next steps of the pastoral search process.
Many thanks to Father Bernie who helped facilitate the meeting as well as friends who helped with preparing the food and the subsequent clean-up. The meeting was a success and we couldn't have done it without your prayers and participation.
In continuation of the search committee activities, stay tuned for an upcoming short survey that will be sent through email and/or by paper form, depending on your preference. In the Fall, we will hold small focus groups where you will have the opportunity to further express your hopes and dreams for St. Patrick's.
In the meantime, we welcome all thoughts and questions. Please feel to reach the Search Committee via email (stpatsearch2014@gmail.com) or in-person.
We know all glory goes to God, but thanks again for your prayers, love and support. We look forward to the next journey ahead.
Sincerely, St. Patrick's Search Committee
Human Trafficking
Every 30 seconds another person becomes a victim of human trafficking. We see a typical teen in our community, but a trafficker sees a target. Sex traffickers have established networks in Northern Virginia including Tysons/Vienna. They prey on middle and high school teen through social media, malls, metro stations, bus stops and even select victims from schools. Northern Virginia has become one of the top teen trafficking venues in the nation. On Sunday, June 7 from 7:00 - 8:30pm, tere will be presentation on how to fight this trafficking. There will be a video shown at 6:15 prior to the presentation. Guest speakers include: Barbara Comstock, U.S. Representative, Detective Bill Woolf, Fairfax County Police Department, Human Trafficking Unit and others. Please plan to attend to see what can be done to protect our youth. The program will be held at Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park Street NE, Vienna, VA 22180. Questions? Contack Sue Hamblen at sue.hamblen@viennapres.org or 703.938.9050, x111. Childcare is available by reservation--703.938.9050, x351
Pastoral Search Prayer
Our Heavenly Father:
Your love for us is unfailing. You have blessed this church -- a caring community where all are welcome and each is valued. Renew our faith during this time of transition.
Be with our pastoral search committee. Give them unity of purpose, and help them listen carefully to your voice. Let us be mindful that you are calling the right person to shepherd your flock at St. Patrick's.
All this we ask in the name of your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen
