Commemorative Mass

Grace Episcopal Church, Alexandria (3601 Russell Road), will hold a special commemorative Mass for Roman Bishop Oscar Romero and other Martyrs of El Salvador on March 24th at 6:30 PM.  This is at the request of our Interim Rector, Father Bernie, who is the Diocesan Liaison to the Diocese of El Salvador. Father Bernie invites and encourages St. Patrick's parishioners to attend with him.

Pat Gardner

Your prayers are requested for "Pat" Constance Gardner, a long-time and much-loved member of Saint Patrick's Episcopal Chuch.  Pat passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at about 7:15 pm. She was surrounded by members of her family.   Pat will be cremated in Huntsville, Alabama where she was visiting and transported back to Northern Virginia for burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

Easter Flowers

The Easter tradition at Saint Patrick's is to use flowers, lilies and other green plants, on the Altar and throughout the church. If you would like to offer flowers in "Memory of a loved one" or as an "Offering of Thanksgiving", please donate $12 to the Altar Guild. Please indicate below how you would like your donation to appear in the bulletin on Easter Sunday. Put this form in the offering plate or give it to any member of the Altar Guild or mail to Saint Patrick's at 3241 Brush Drive, Falls Church VA 22042.  Checks should be made out to the "Altar Guild of Saint Patrick's."

Pastoral Search Prayer

Our Heavenly Father:

Your love for us is unfailing.  You have blessed this church -- a caring community where all are welcome and each is valued.   Renew our faith during this time of transition.

Be with our pastoral search committee.  Give them unity of purpose, and help them listen carefully to your voice.  Let us be mindful that you are calling the right person to shepherd your flock at St. Patrick's.

All this we ask in the name of your Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen

Fifth Sunday in Lent

Texts:

First Reading: Jeremiah 31:31-34
Psalm Psalm 119:9-16
Second Reading: Hebrews 5:5-10

John 12:20-33

Collect:

Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
