- Fr. Tinh will train acolytes and young lectors on Saturday, October 26, at 11 AM. Youth and parents are welcome to lunch on Vietnamese sandwiches following the session.
 - All are invited to attend St. Patrick's Harvest Day's Dinner on Sunday, October 27th. Adult $6, Children $3, Westlawn family $1.Our Amelia Nicholson will coordinate the event. Evening Prayer at 5:30 PM, and dinner will start at 6:00 PM. We would like everyone coming to the 10:30 AM service on that day to bring with them vegetables (as many as you like) that we can decorate the church with to make the church look bright and wonderful, to thank the Lord for all the bounties that we grow. As people come into the church, they will be asked to place the produce anywhere around the sanctuary, the result should be wonderful. At the end of the service, Amelia will gather up the vegetables and add them to a beef stew that we will cook ready to serve at the evening Harvest supper. All are invited to attend and bring along a dessert to share (similar idea to the shrove Tuesday dinner) Ideas for produce,---- carrots, potatoes, root vegetables of any sort. Any fruit bought will be eaten and excess fruit and vegetables donated to the Shelter. - The Bazaar of this year is intended for fundraising to support St. Pat's outreach, and will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, from 9 AM to 3 PM. Our Kathy Oliver and Debbie Clark will lead us in this event, and they will need volunteers to make it a success. There will be food, a bake sale, white elephants, book and games, clothing, household items and small electronics. Please, no large furniture. You may start bringing donations to church starting Sunday, October 27. There will be a meeting to plan for the event on Sunday, October 20th, after church. Please sign up to help and attend the meeting. - FCS CROP Walk -- Sunday November 10th, 1-2 PM. The Falls Church Community Service, Inc. (FCS) will be holding its very first "CROP Walk" for hunger relief. Participants in the 2-mile walk in the Falls Church area will work to raise pledges and donations to fund world hunger program administered by Church World Service, with 25% remaining for the FCS food pantry. All are invited to participate. - Bishop Shannon will visit Saint Patrick's on Sunday, December 8, 2013. The service on that day will be held in the afternoon. This will be an opportunity for baptism, confirmation, reception and affirmation of faith. Fr. Tinh+ will teach a confirmation class that includes four after-church sessions on every Sunday after church from October 13 to November 24. Parents and Sponsors of the confirmands are invited to join the class. A Thank You Note -- Cookies for Co-eds
Hi Father Tinh,
I just received my package of gluten-free goods in the mail. I just wanted to thank you and ask you pass that message on forward to everyone else involved. I appreciate it a lot with the stresses of midterms and projects coming up! Have a wonderful day!
With love, Jenn Moya
