Parish Notes

- Congratulations to Kathy Oliver on the marriage of her daughter Francine Kochuba, to Chris Kugelman.  The wedding is celebrated today, Thursday, February 28th, in Costa Rica.

- Have books for Westlawn children?   Remember to bring them to church this Sunday, March 3rd, and our Winnie Lebo will take them over to the school.  You can also make a monetary donation to St. Patrick's, with "Westlawn books" in the memo line, and our Winnie will do the shopping for appropriate books at used book stores.  Thank you.

Saint Patrick's needs volunteers to help with the Hypothermia Shelter Program.  This requires opening the church doors when homeless women come to stay overnight in the church on each Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and to check the building in the mornings of Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  The group will come around 7:30 PM on each scheduled evening, and they will leave early in the morning on the next day.   Please find the sign-up sheet in the narthex, and please speak with Felix Spinelli, Hao Nguyen or Elisabeth Nguyen for any information concerning this ministry.

Easter Flowers.  If you would like to offer flowers in "Memory of a loved one" or as an "Offering of Thanksgiving" at Easter, please send $10 to the Altar Guild.  Contact the church to indicate how you would like your donation to appear in the Easter service bulletin. You may fill out the form that comes in the Sunday service bulletin, call and leave a message at 703-532-5656, or send an email to [email protected]. Checks should be made payable to the "Altar Guild of Saint Patrick's," earmarked "Easter Flowers," and mailed to Saint Patrick's Church, 3241 Brush Dr., Falls Church, Virginia, 22042, or dropped in the alms basin during worship.

FCS Pantry Food BasketWould you like to give food to the families in the Falls Church Area?  At the entrance of our church there is a basket for canned food and household items that will be taken to the Falls Church Community Service, Inc. (FCS), which runs a food pantry at Knox Presbyterian Church on Route 50.   Please bring to church the items you wish to donate and place them in the basket when you come to worship on Sunday.

Lenten Devotion 2013 -  The Lenten Meditations for Lent 2013 is now available in the narthex.  Published by Episcopal Relief and Development, the booklet offers thoughts for daily prayer and reflection on God's abundance in our lives and the call to help alleviate hunger around the world.  Please pick up your copy.

Food For The Homeless.   Please mark on your calendar Saturday, March 16th, the day we make food for the homeless, and please come to join us.  Our Elisabeth Nguyen will let us know what time in the morning we will start working.  Food prepared in the morning of that day will be taken to the homeless shelter at Bailey's Crossroads later in the afternoon.  If you wish to participate in this ministry, or to learn more about it, please speak with Elisabeth, or write to her at [email protected]

Cha Nhật Thứ Nh của Ma Thống Hối

Kinh Văn: Sng Thế 15:1-12, 17-18; Thi Thin 27; Phi Lp 3:17-4:1; Luca 13:31-35

_____________

Lời hứa đ khng buộc p Ra Ham phải hội đủ điều kiện tin quyết no, song ku gọi sự đp ứng, v sự đp ứng ấy l đức tin.
