Dear Knights,
As we enter the final day of league competition, we have all of our winter sports teams continuing on into CIF playoffs! We will know when the teams are playing on Sunday and will send out an email with times and venues. Congratulations to all of the athletes that have worked so hard and the dedicated coaches that have spent so much time helping our kids to be great. As playoffs near, we hope to get a great crowd out to all of our games, both home and away. But please remember that these are games and meant to be fun. Fans, please act well, respect the players, coaches and officials. Have fun, but be respectful and enjoy the experience.
Dress Code
With the recent weather, we need a quick reminder of the dress code. Just so that everyone is clear, we expect that students follow the dress code below:
- Covered midriffs, cleavage, and backs
- Completely covered undergarments
- Bottoms that cover bottoms
- Clothing free from offensive or otherwise inappropriate images, messages, or advertisements related but not limited to alcohol, tobacco or drugs
- Tops with some type of sleeve or strap
- Shorts, skirts and dresses of a reasonable length
I really don't want to spend a lot of time on this. Just dress appropriately. Teachers have been sending kids up to the office for inappropriate dress, and administrators deal with it. But it takes a team effort (parents, students and school) to make this work. I don't want to embarrass kids by making them wear yellow PE clothes all day. That doesn't solve anything. It would be great if students could just wear practical clothes. Remember, it's a school, dress appropriately.
Parking
In an effort to get kids to school on time and to be good neighbors, we will be trying to get as many cars in the parking lot as possible. We have ordered additional permits for sale, but in the meantime, students without permits can park in the lot if there is space available. This means that if you have a permit, and you arrive late, you might not get a spot. Sorry, show up on time!
Used Sports Equipment!
Is your garage a sports equipment graveyard? Are your kids closets full of cleats they have outgrown and jerseys for teams they no longer play with? If so, please consider donating your unwanted sports equipment to "Opportunity to Play" - an organization set up by some local high school students to support community outreach sports programs for young athletes. They are hosting a sports equipment collection drive on Monday February 16, 10am-12:30pm in the Foothill Teacher Parking Lot. The items collected will be donated to Tustin and Santa Ana Boys & Girls Club, the Tustin Family & Youth Center and the City of Angels Orphanage in Tijuana. Please support this great cause, dedicated to giving all young athletes an opprtunity to enjoy sports. ! If you have questions, full details can be found on the attached flyer and at their website - www.opportunitytoplay.net."

The PTO meeting will be on Tuesday, February 17 at 6:30pm in the cafeteria, not at 7:00pm as previously advertised. Please come to hear all about the exciting things happening in the PTO and at Foothill.
