Dear Knights
Next week is finals. I know that teachers and students have been busy reviewing for finals to get ready to be successful. The finals schedule is at the following link:

Monday is a regular school day. On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the school day will end at 12:15PM for finals. There will not be school for students on Friday, January 30. Grades will be posted shortly thereafter. Good luck to all of the students on your finals. I wish you all academic success in your classes.
Athletics
Congratulations to the girls soccer team who got a big win over Villa Park yesterday at Fred Kelly Field. The Knights won 3-2 and Abbey Greubel once and Hannah Stemper scored twice. Justine Rendl did a solid job in the goal. Keep up the great work ladies!
In the pool, our girls water polo team beat Coronado of San Diego in a physical game. Led by senior captain Julia Sellers, the Knights have one more tournament before starting their CIF playoff run.
The boys soccer team is playing this afternoon at Barry Turner Field at 3:00. The girls basketball team will be playing league rival, El Dorado, tonight at home at 5:30PM. The boys will travel to El Dorado and their game begins at 7:00PM. Both the boys and girls basketball teams are having great seasons. I hope to see you out there supporting our athletes.
Seniors! Do you need cash for college?
Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online.
Seniors are required to submit their GPA to Cal Grant along with the FAFSA.
Foothill High School will be submitting senior GPA's electronically to Cal Grant for you if you complete the Cal Grant GPA Verification form available in the Counseling Office.
Return the completed form to Mrs. Haidar in room 303 by February 20th.
Links to both the Cal Grant GPA Verification form and the FAFSA online application are on the Foothill High School website. Just click on the Counseling tab and then click on Paying for College.
Senior Munch
There is a Senior Munch to Medieval Times on Monday, February 2. See your senior advisors for more information.
Construction Update
We have finished the first five rooms of the 100-building remodel. Students will use the newly renovated rooms next week and we will get to work on the next five rooms. We are hoping to complete the project by mid April.
Additionally, the parking lot near the track is now open. Please consider using this as an exit route from the school's main parking lot. Also, please don't turn left out of the parking lots at peak times; it really makes a mess behind you!
HELP FHS Library
By shopping during our Book Fair 1/29- 2/8/15. Please go to Barnes & Noble at the Marketplace for all your second semester needs and mention Foothill High School or Bookfair ID#11553849. A percentage of ALL sales, even those made in the cafe, or online will be donated back to your library. Think ahead - get the perfect Valentine's & Mother's Day gifts at Barnes & Noble.
In really positive news, Senior Drew Amman returned to school this week after being out for a few weeks. It was great to see Drew on campus and we are all very thankful to have him back!
