Dear Knights,
Welcome back to school and Happy New Year! It's hard to think that it is now 2015, but its here and I am confident that it will be a great year for all of us. I hope that everyone had a safe, relaxing, and restful break. As we get back to school, I wanted to make everyone aware of a few upcoming events and dates of significance. But again, welcome back to Foothill.
Late Start Wednesday
There will be a late start this Wednesday, January 7. Zero period will start at 8:58AM and first period will start at 9:43AM. The next Late Start will be January 21. For a complete list of the remaining late starts please go to: http://www.tustin.k12.ca.us/Page/6234
Girls Basketball - Foothill vs. Chino Hills
The Lady Knights will take on Chino Hills on Tuesday, January 6 at 7:00PM. This year's team has been very good thus far in pre-league matchups posting a record of 9-2. Tuesday night's game should be very good as the Chino Hills team has a record of 11-2. Lets make sure to get out and support our Lady Knights.
Boys Basketball - Foothill vs. Tustin
Come out to see our talented boys basketball team take on the cross-town rival Tustin Tillars on Wednesday, January 7. The game will start at 7:00PM. Both Tustin and Foothill are strong teams in their respective leagues and Wednesday night's game promises to be a good one. Last year was a very exciting game and we expect the same this year. Come out to support the Knights!
FHS Choir Fundraiser
Let's start Spring-cleaning early! FHS Choir is in need of donations from gently used clothing to furniture for their annual yard sale that is being held this Saturday, January 10th from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. All donations can be dropped off between 5:30 and 6:00 am in the FHS Staff parking lot. If you don't have anything to donate, come on by and shop! We appreciate your donations and look forward to seeing you there!
A few upcoming dates...
January 19 - Dr. Martin Luther King Day - No School
January 20 - FHS PTO Meeting - TUSD Superintendent Greg Franklin will be speaking on the new tests that all California students will be taking in May.
January 27, 28 & 29 - Finals Schedule, School starts at 8:00AM and is dismissed at 12:20PM.
January 30 - Teacher Work Day - No school for students!!
February 2 - Start of 2nd Semester
As finals approach, students and parents should be reminded to be aware of grades and assignments going into finals. It's not good to have surprises after finals are done. Log in to the Aeries Parent Portal and check on grades, assignments, and anything that might be in question, don't wait until after finals to start these conversations with teachers.
