Dear Knights:
Mr. Foothill
Last night was the always-entertaining Mr. Foothill competition. I'd like to congratulate the 2014 Mr. Foothill, Logan Wetherholt. I'd also like to thank the other five guys that competed. There was some serious talent and intellectual prowess demonstrated during the competition. A big thank you goes out to Kendall McCarthy and the rest of the ASB crew who worked very hard to pull this off. They did a great job and everyone enjoyed the evening.
Bite of Reality
About 110 of Mr. Lee's senior Economics teachers participated in a program called Bite of Reality at Foothill yesterday. This program, brought to Foothill by Schools First Credit Union, was a financial simulation in which students had to balance a budget, make purchases, write checks, and avoid vendors trying to convince them to buy things they don't need. All of the students agreed that it was a very useful activity and that they learned a lot from the experience. We are looking forward to bringing this program to Foothill again in the spring. A big thank you goes out to Schools First for their help. They brought over 30 volunteers to Foothill to make this happen. Thank you!
Boys Basketball Tonight
We will have our very first basketball game in our newly remodeled gym tonight. Please come out to root on the Knights at 7:00PM for a non-league game. The Knights basketball program is looking very strong this year, winning the Ocean View tournament last week. Go Knights!
New Librarian
Congratulations to Jessica Flores for being appointed as the new Library Media Tech at Foothill. Jessica has been a library assistant for the last 8 years and has built great relationships with the students and staff. She was a natural choice for this position and we are looking forward to more great things to come from our school library.
Choir Show
The Foothill High School Choirs will transport you into a magical winter wonderland at their Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 16th in the FHS Events Center. The concert will begin at 7pm and tickets will be sold at the door. Admission is $5 for students, $10 for the general public and $15 for preferred seating. Come and hear the joyous sounds of the holiday!
Winter Concert
The Winter Band and Orchestra Concert is next Thursday, December 18, evening at 7:00 in the Foothill Gym. Please come out and support our band and orchestra students. They do a great job!
