Dear Knights,
We have a big athletic weekend coming up for Foothill High School. Tonight, our Football team will take on San Clemente High School at Northrup Field at Tustin High School at 7:00PM in their 2nd round playoff game. Both teams are coming off of impressive first round wins and it promises to be a good game tonight. It will be great to get a good crowd out to the game tonight to see the Knights; don't miss it!
Water Polo Championship
Tomorrow afternoon, the Foothill Water Polo team will play Los Osos in the CIF Championship. The game will be held at the Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine at 2:30PM. This is the second straight year that the Knights have been playing for the CIF Championship. Please come out to Irvine tomorrow in order to cheer on our water polo team.
Dodgeball!
But the best athletic event at Foothill has occurred over the last two weeks. Our ASB kids organized the FHS Dodgeball Tournament! Last week, in the girls' tournament, members of the FHS varsity softball team won the Dodgeball championship. At lunch today, in the boys' tournament, members of the baseball team won the championship. All of the games were very well attended by the student body and it was a lot of fun. A big thank you goes out to Jake Haigh for putting this all together and refereeing the games!
ATA Show
Also, congratulations to our new Drama teacher, Brianna Manasas, and the students of Advanced Theater Arts (ATA). They performed their fall show, "Check, Please" last night and for the students today at school. It was absolutely hilarious. The kids did a great job and it is clear that Mrs. Manasas is doing a great job with our ATA program. We're all really looking forward to the next show!
Mrs. Fiduk
It is with mixed emotions that I announce that our librarian, Lori Fiduk has accepted a job as a secretary at Orchard Hills Intermediate School. Mrs. Fiduk is an amazing person, and has been a tremendous asset to Foothill for the past year and a half. We hate to lose someone as hard working and kind as Mrs. Fiduk, but we are very happy for her to receive this position. The staff, students and parents at Orchard Hills are incredibly lucky to get her.
I would like to personally thank Lori for everything she has done to help the staff and students at Foothill. We will work to fill her position as quickly as possible, so we all have about two weeks to say good bye.
Report Card Night
We will have Report Card Night on Monday, November 24. Reports cards can be picked up in the Event Center starting at 5:00PM. The teachers will be on hand to meet with parents starting at 6:00PM. The night will conclude at 8:00PM. Please keep in mind that meetings with teachers should last between 2 and 4 minutes so that all parents have a chance to talk to the teachers.
Tuesday, November 25 will be a minimum day and students will be dismissed at 12:15PM. There is no school Wednesday.
PTO Directories and Membership
The PTO Membership Directories have been printed and are on their way to your homes. If you missed the opportunity to join, we did order a small quantity of extra directories and would be happy to mail you one. Just Click here for the PTO Membership Form and send it in. We hope many folks took advantage of our evening PTO meeting on November 18th and welcome more to come to each month's meeting. Please check the PTO tab on the FHS website for the schedule of meeting dates. We have had over 685 families join the PTO along with the majority of our teachers and staff. Thank you to everyone for supporting Foothill's students and teachers.
