Principal's Weekly Update
November 14, 2014

Dear Knights:

Congratulations to the boys water polo team for their impressive win over Peninsula High School yesterday in the first round of CIF playoffs.  They are playing again at 2:00PM on Saturday at El Toro High School.

Tonight, our football team will take on Woodbridge High School at 7:00 at the University High School stadium in Irvine.  Please come out to support the Knights in their first round CIF game.

And congratulations to Maddie Chou for her performance at the state level golf match.  Maddie shot a 75 on a very tough Arrowhead golf course in San Bernardino.  Maddie had a great junior season and we can't wait to see what she will do next year.

Thank you to all of our students for getting our tutorial period off to a great start.  The campus has been clear and students have been receiving help in their classes each time we hold the period.  In addition to academic help, our counselors have been in the library helping students with their college applications.  We will have college application help sessions again next week in the library and seniors are encouraged to sign up to attend.

There will be a late start next week on Wednesday, November 19.

PTO/Principal's Roundtable Meeting

Please join us for the Foothill PTO/Principal's Roundtable meeting on Tuesday, November 18, 6:30 p.m. in the second floor PE classroom at the Events Center.  Please note that this is one of two evening meetings we will be holding this year - a great opportunity for you to join us if you're unable to attend during the day.

Principal's Roundtable is a chance for you to hear what's going on at Foothill and to ask Dr. Stephany questions you may have.  Everyone is welcome!

SAT or ACT Practice Test

Foothill PTO is sponsoring a practice SAT or a practice ACT at Foothill on Saturday, November 15th from 9am-1pm.  $20. To enroll, visit www.CatalystPrep.com/practiceexam_su or call 1-800-235-0056.

Foothill Golf

Foothill Boys Golf is having a weeklong fundraiser at both Wiseguys and Fish House from November 15-20. Please plan to treat your family and support boys golf at the same time.  Please remember to bring attached flyer.  Thank you for your support!

Lastly, I'd like to remind parents and students to drive safely on and around campus.  I understand that people are rushed and that we all have places to be, but please slow down and abide by the traffic laws.  We have asked the CHP and OC Sherriff to increase their presence around school during drop off and pick up times in hopes that this will help people to drive more safely.

Have a great weekend,

Nick Stephany, Ed.D.
