To show the best way to accurately test water. We are hardly booking our tickets for the Oscars but we did our best.

So if you are looking for a quick refresher on best practice in water testing or you just want a bit of a laugh at our acting abilities, please spend a few minutes to view the results on YouTube.

Please note, this video is not meant in any way as a substitute to the official training courses available in the UK. On-hand training with certification is still recommended for all pool maintenance engineers.

I am never too sure when it is politically or culturally incorrect to wish Happy New Year. Given that we are still in the first two weeks of 2015, however, I shall risk it this time. So Happy New Year to all our contacts in the Pool & Spa Leisure industry.

And - working in this industry - we all know that we come back from the holidays literally running. With two major events before us, the mince pies are barely put away before we are busy preparing for the shows.

On that note, too, we shall keep this letter short. No doubt we shall have the opportunity in person to chat with you either in Birmingham or Coventry. We look foward to seeing you there!!

UK Pool And Spa Expo : 22 - 24 January, NEC

Yes, we will be there with the PM 630 seeing its UK debut at the event. Be sure to come by Stand No 352 to meet the team.

And, of course, we will be having a competition: so don't miss the opportunity to win an Apple iPod at the Lovibond� Stand. Accurate water testing is what it's all about ...........

SPATEX : 1 - 3 February, Ricoh Arena

Not able to make UK Pool & Spa Expo? Don't panic. The PM 630 will be travelling to Coventry too.

And we will have the same competition at SPATEX - Stand No E16.

Now we do appreciate that some will be attending both shows but we are smarter than that! Yes, the competition will be the same but the results are very different so there is no point trying to cheat!.

Of course, SPATEX also provides the opportunity to listen to the inimitable Colin Day speaking on "It's All In The Balance" - on Sunday at 10.45. With over 25 years' experience in the water analysis market, he knows a thing or two.

Oh - does anyone have a 10 minute guide to understanding football? The same Colin Day is making this editor watch the Coventry vs Rochdale match on Saturday afternoon. Any help appreciated!

New Steps in the Right Direction

There were some nervous colleagues at Lovibond Tintometer on Thursday morning, 8th January, 2015.

As we arrived at work, the sky was black, wind was raging and rain was thrashing the windows. In just 4 hours time, the Lovibond� team was due to meet and greet those who have influenced and aided the acquisition of land and building acceptance of our new site in Solstice Park.

As the morning continued and we kept our fingers crossed, who could have expected the sun to shine brightly as our MD, Chris Counsell, finally broke the ground at our new site? We will, of course, keep you up-to-date on progress.

We appreciate any input you may have to future editions of The Splash. Meanwhile, we hope to see many of you over the next few weeks.
