SUAF President's Message
President Castille and 2015 SULC grad, Kelly Dick, Jr."
Dear Southernites:
Last week, over 300 hundred new lawyers were admitted to the practice of law in Louisiana. Many of these lawyers graduated from the four Louisiana law schools: Tulane, Loyola, LSU and Southern. One of those new lawyers is Kelley Dick, Jr., a Southern University Law Center graduate. My law firm offered Kelley a job several months ago during his last year of law school, and he is now one of our newest lawyers. I am so pleased to report that of all the students who took the Louisiana Bar Exam this summer from all law schools in the state and around the country, Kelley made the highest score of all test takers. Kelley joins a growing number of Southern University graduates at Taylor Porter: me, Katia Desrouleaux Bowman, Ne'Shira Millender, Cindy Amedee, and Kari "Kiki" Bergeron. The Southern University family is proud of Kelley's achievement and happy to have him as one of our newest alums.
Many of you have noticed the Federation's new billboard southbound on I-110 in Baton Rouge. It features another Southern University graduate, Daniel Joiner. Like Kelley, Daniel also graduated from Southern this past spring semester, but from our A&M campus. As the billboard indicates, Daniel started law school at Harvard this semester. Yep, I look forward to recruiting Daniel to Taylor Porter as well. Kelley and Daniel's personal academic achievements are wonderful examples of the quality education students get at Southern University.
