Dear Southernites:
Abigail visited Harvard this weekend. After voting early and a great week of Homecoming activities, Marian and I flew to Boston for the MSI Global Alliance international meeting. Abigail, our 5-year old, came along and learned as much as we did. MSI is an international network of accounting and law firms from around the world that my law firm belongs to. The next two international meetings are in Paris and Tokyo. Should be fun. On Sunday, we took a tour of Lexington, Concord and Cambridge and visited Harvard. I was surprised to learn that Harvard has 6,655 undergraduate students, only slightly more than our A&M campus. It also has over 14,000 students in graduate and professional programs and a $36 billion endowment.
There were monuments and artifacts of the American Revolutionary War everywhere. Scattered about the city of Boston were several grave yards dating back to the 1600s of people who died fighting for independence and the right to self-govern. Tomorrow is election day in Louisiana, and we have the opportunity to express our independence and elect the new leaders of our great state. We have the right to vote.
