Electronic Filing Deadline
for Health Care Forms is June 30
The IRS has made a big push in recent years toward electronic filing, even going so far as to extend filing deadlines by a month for businesses and individuals who file certain Affordable Health Care Act information returns electronically. But there comes a time when even electronic health care information returns must be filed, and that time is June 30.

Self-insured employers and health coverage providers must file their Forms 1094-B or 1095-B with the IRS by June 30; and applicable large employers (with 50 or more full-time employees) must file Form 1094-C or 1095-C by the same date.

(All employers and health care providers were required to provide employees with information returns by March 31, and paper filers had a deadline of May 31 to file 1094 and 1095 forms.)

For the record, self-insured employers and health care providers who file 250 or more Forms 1095-B or 1095-C must file electronically.
