Lincoln at the Library

For the rest of this month, view "Abraham Lincoln: A Man of His Time, A Man for All Times," a national traveling panel exhibition organized by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.

The exhibit traces Lincoln's path from self-educated, rough-hewn lawyer with virtually no administrative experience, to the president who guided a divided nation through the crises of slavery, secession, and Civil War.

Join us for the next "Lincoln Lyceum," or discussion to gain a deeper understanding of our 16th president's life. At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23 at the Grants Pass branch analyze Lincoln's impact on the global stage ranging from China to Hungary, Argentina to Cuba, and Ghana to Ireland.

This traveling exhibition has been made possible in part through a major grant from the Josephine County Cultural Trust, the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Books on the move
in the children's library

Books are on the move in the children's library at the Grants Pass branch in preparation for the 21st-Century Children's Library Project. This effort transforms the outdated and worn 1960s-style children's spaces into 21st-century children's libraries with modern hands-on tools that inspire fun literacy exploration.
While the children's library is under construction, a temporary children's lending library will be available in the main area of the library.

All regularly scheduled children's programs will be held in the Ben Bones Room during renovation.
