Greetings WBAI Family -
We are very excited to be working on several new projects at WBAI.
- First and foremost is the planning of the building of new broadcast studios for WBAI. We are meeting with architects, audio consultants and contractors to best meet the current budget constraints while bringing the best quality of sound to listeners.
- Second, a new archives of past aired shows will be launched on our website providing you with an easy to use interface and more extensive show content information. Shows will be available indefinitely rather than for the current expiration dates. Because of copyright issues music shows will still only be available for up to 2 weeks after airing, but guest and playlists will now be available.
- Lastly, just as fashion styles change, website design styles do as well and WBAI is developing a new look and more functions with a new website design.
We will continue to make announcements about all of the above but much of this is dependent upon the fiscal stability of the station.
During the month of February, as you listen to requests for donations instead of many of your regular programs, keep in mind that WBAI continues to move in the direction of 21st century innovations as a station free of corporate and political influence, only because of your support
Your gifts allow us to keep moving forward!
Thank you for your support,
Berthold Reimers

WBAI's Mike Sargent on PBS

For the first time in almost 20 years, all of the Academy Award nominees for leading and supporting acting roles are white. Gwen Ifill asks WBAI's Mike Sargent of Niteshift and Reel World as well as Ann Hornaday of The Washington Post about the surprises and snubs of the 2015 Oscar nominations, and what it says about power and diversity in Hollywood.

I listen every Sunday from 3-6pm to Con Sabor Latino! Great Music and very educational as well! - Annette Arocho-Bautista
To Producer Kimberly Massengill: Just sending you love and to say we need YOU and your special mix and your courage. And your heart. And your weaving what is happening around us and reflections, inspirations in the music.
"If I can't dance I don't want to be part of your revolution" - Emma G
For godsake, why would WBAI want to copy other talk networks. Pacifica invented the form, proving culture is always intrinsic to our radical movements. It is our nourishment during the day not only in the evenings. We love you Kimberly! I appreciate a lot of Mario's energy and vision--but don't go along with jettisoning the music mornings.
Loyal and WBAI Buddy, -Zigi Lowenberg
