| Denny was named "Volunteer of the Week."

MOWSF Volunteer Denny Bailey was named "Volunteer of the Week" for April 30, 2015, by the Marin Independent Journal. ( See article.) Denny, 39, has volunteered with us since December 2012. He's made lots of deliveries during that time, bringing microwaves, refrigerators, heaters and more to MOWSF seniors. He's also taken on handyman tasks, from fixing doors to changing light bulbs, and helped clients with computer and electronics issues. Read More �

We could use your help! Every Wednesday morning, volunteers deliver bags of fresh groceries to low-income seniors across the city. The groceries are donated by the SF-Marin Food Bank.
We are looking for volunteers to pack those groceries into individual bags and help us load them into volunteers' cars. Read More �

Many thanks to the 350+ Gala volunteers that helped make the 28th Annual Star Chefs & Vintners Gala such a great success. Together we raised $2.63 million for senior meals! Volunteers put together programs, checked in guests, helped run the silent auctions, loaded supplies for chefs, waved wands during the live auction, sold raffle tickets and snapped pics. Professionals Donate Happy Hour Proceeds

TAP-SF's networking event benefited MOWSF.
|
This April, the SF Chapter of Taiwanese American Professionals (TAP-SF) gave proceeds from one of their monthly networking happy hours, aka "TAPpy Hour," to MOWSF. They raised $188 through raffle entries. Thank you, TAP, for using your networking time to help seniors in need! Training: Delivery Volunteers: Starting June 3 Every Wednesday morning, we hold trainings for delivery volunteers. Opportunities include delivering groceries donated by the SF Marin Food Bank on Wednesday mornings or delivering household health and safety items such as microwaves and bath mats on your own schedule. Training: Good Neighbor Volunteers: June 13 & 18 Help seniors in a variety of roles, including grocery shopping, housecleaning, handy work, going on walks or making a new friend. Weeknight trainings are from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sports Basement's Bryant Street Store (1590 Bryant St., SF). Saturday trainings are from 10 a.m. to noon at MOWSF (1375 Fairfax Ave., SF) To sign up, contact Danie Belfield at [email protected] or 415-343-1311.
