The Marble Falls Public Library invites you to join them in welcoming author Nola McKey as the first presenter for this fall's Lunch with an Author Program, Friday, September 16, at 11:30 AM. Nola will be talking about her latest book From Tea Cakes to Tamales: Third-Generation Texas Recipes, a collection of heirloom recipes and family stories gathered from around the state, focusing on our cultural diversity. The idea for this book came to Nola when she was making tea cakes using her grandmother's recipe.
Nola McKey is a former senior editor for Texas Highways magazine, has edited Cooking with Texas Highways, and has been an assistant foods editor for Southern Living. She has also written freelance articles that have appeared in publications including The Dallas Morning News and Country Home. Nola will be joined in the program by Alice Liles of Muleshoe, who has contributed recipes from both her grandmothers. From Tea Cakes to Tamales will be available for purchase at the program and for checkout in the library. The program is free, but donations are welcome. Reservations are required and seating is limited. Please make your reservations in person at the Marble Falls Public Library, 101 Main,
