To those who gave their lives so that America may be free
 THANK YOU!
May we never forget their sacrifice.

Mayor's Corner

Greetings!
If you are looking for something to do this Memorial Day weekend, the Hill Country Science Mill in Johnson City (on Hwy 290 West) will be open Saturday and Monday from 10:00-5:00 and on Sunday from noon to 5:00, with 10% of income going to the San Antonio Coalition for Veterans and Families. Check out their website: http://www.sciencemill.org - it is an amazing resource - entertaining and educational for all ages!

By now, all Meadowlakes residents should have received ballots for the annual Pedernales Electric Cooperative Board election. Two positions are open, but only one of them has two candidates. Also on the ballot is a bylaw amendment that would confirm that PEC members are allowed to speak at Board meetings. Unlike most elections, PEC allows only one vote per household, so the adult members of the household will have to agree how to vote in this particular election. Election voting can be done now by mail (the ballot must be postmarked by June 10) or online at www.pec.coop/annualmeeting (by June 10), or in person onsite at the annual meeting (until 10:00 AM).

If you wish to attend PEC's annual meeting, it will be held on Saturday morning, June 18th, 2016, at the Dripping Springs High School Performing Arts Center. Beginning at 8:00 AM, PEC will provide food (breakfast tacos and Kona ice) and family friendly activities. The official meeting will start after the polls close at 10:00 AM. You can hear business updates and plans for the year head. Election results will be on the agenda.   Also during the meeting there will be drawings for a used PEC 2010 Ford F150 4x4 Supercab pickup, three "smart TVs", and 10 gift cards of $150 each - (note: only one prize can be won per member). The PEC website is the best place for more information.

Just a thought: Because I am running late does NOT mean it is OK for me to ignore speed limits and stop signs...
