Mayor's Corner

Greetings!

At our Council meeting Tuesday evening, further limitations on parking were approved for Meadowlakes Drive from Fairway to just past the entrance to the restaurant and golf course. This is probably the most heavily traveled section of road in our city. Both sides of the street will be restricted to 2-hour parking from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM and NO PARKING at all will be allowed between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Signs will be installed soon. Citations will be issued by our Ordinance Officer.

Yes, we need the rain, but it is slowing down completion of the resurfacing of the tennis courts. Two tennis courts plus one that is being converted for pickle ball courts will be lighted. Two other tennis courts will not be lighted. The Council adopted the fee schedules for residents and non-residents.

Neighborhood rain gauges showed 1.7" as a result of last night's rain. I can keep my automatic sprinkler system turned off a bit longer.

Recently, I learned something about making grilled cheese sandwiches. Instead of buttering the outside of the bread, use a thin coating of mayonnaise - works much better and might even reduce calories a bit.

Friendly Reminder

If you have brush to be picked up please call the City Hall to be put on the weekly brush pickup list. We are seeing more limbs that are being put out for us to chip that are smaller or larger than the required diameter. A door hanger will be left at any home that has items that do not meet the requirements. We encourage you to please not leave piles of brush out for pickup until the day before the scheduled pickup (every Thursday of each week).
To review the guidelines for the items that can and cannot be picked up please click here
If you have trees overhanging the streets, they must be trimmed to provide clearance of at least 14 feet above the street corridor.

                                           Thank you!
