"Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instil in us."

~ Hal Borland

MAYOR'S CORNER
Greetings!

Just a little taste of winter is enough for me. We were all pretty smart to decide to live here where freezing weather is rare and short-lived. My family is in the DFW area, but they are lucky enough to live west of where the tornados destroyed so many homes and lives.
The lights and decorations in Meadowlakes were exceptionally beautiful this year. The POA judges did not have an easy time selecting winners! Christmas decorations are beginning to be taken down. Streets will be dark by 5:00 PM - drive carefully!
The City of Meadowlakes loaned its big electric sign to the City of Marble Falls to help alert drivers to the construction that will begin around Feb. 1st on Avenue N between Broadway and Hwy 1431. The Marble Falls City Manager has advised that they hope the rerouting of Avenue N (so that it runs directly into Bluebonnet Drive) will be completed within four months (weather permitting), but then it may take another four or more months for the State Highway Dept. to install the new permanent traffic lights at the new intersection. After that, the current light where Ave. N runs directly into the HEB parking lot, will be removed. That is just the first step in major changes planned for that general area, ending ultimately with a brand new HEB - a super version, but not the extra-huge one that sells furniture, too. We will need patience...maybe for a couple of years...
On that note, I hope you have a happy, healthy and wonderful 2016!

Mayor

AVENUE N DETOUR PLAN

The City of Marble Falls will be starting much needed improvements to a section of Avenue N between Broadway and FM1431. This will be scheduled from February 2016 through July 2016. Improvements will include rerouting that section to a new intersection at Bluebonnet and FM1431. During the 6 month construction period, northbound traffic will be detoured to Avenue L and Avenue Q. Below is a map of the future construction that will be taking place. You can also visit this link to get more information from the City of Marble Falls

MILITARY MEMORIAL MONUMENT
memorial_day.jpg
The Meadowlakes POA is in process of setting up the Military Memorial Monument. You will notice as you enter into Meadowlakes on the left side of Meadowlakes Dr. The memorial monument will be a granite stone monolith from our area, and bronze plaques commemorating the five military services, with bronze inscription so they will always be legible on the stone. In response to several residents offers to help, we have created an account for donations to the memorial. If you wish to donate to the memorial, please come by the City Hall. Any of the young ladies in the office can accept donations and provide you with a receipt of donation. We are working to control the costs of the memorial and the landscaping, any donations will help. If you have any questions please contact James Woods at [email protected]
