MAYOR'S CORNER
Greetings!

If you received this message directly from the City, then we have your e-mail address. If someone forwarded it to you, and you would like to be on the e-mail list for newsletters and special alerts, contact City Hall (830-693-6840). Also, if your name and address are in the City Directory but your phone number is NOT, that is because the City has to have your okay to include your phone number. Contact City Hall to have your number appear in the next update. Meadowlakes phone books are available at City Hall for just $3.
Hidden Falls Golf Course will be the site of the annual golf tournament to raise funds for Mission Outreach and Mission Marble Falls. Tee off time will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 31st. Meadowlakes resident Jeanine Osborne is the person to contact to volunteer to help with the tournament - or to sign up play in it. Her number is in our directory: 512-914-0002. Jeremy Grubb has all of the details. Prizes will be awarded!
Mission Marble Falls is a separate entity that provides meals to anyone who walks in at St. Frederick's Church on Avenue N between 3rd and 4th Streets (on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays). Mission Outreach, a longtime community service provided by St. Fred's, prepares and delivers 350+ hot meals to individuals and families in Marble Falls, Granite Shoals and Meadowlakes just about every Saturday (except for holidays because it is too hard to get enough volunteers then). Volunteers are always needed and welcome for these two charities.
If you are looking for something to do on Thursday, October 29th, the Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual "Moonlight Madness" event, including a street dance at Third and Main Streets, beginning at 7:45 PM. Shops on Main will be open late with spooky specials. I think all of the "Sculptures on Main" for 2015 should be in place by then.

MILITARY MEMORIAL ASSISTANCE
repotting-flowers.jpg
We are clearing the ground near the entrance to Meadowlakes to create a landscaped setting to include a memorial to honor military members who have served our Country and sustained our freedom. The setting will include evergreen plants and stone xeriscaping with a central memorial area with the memorial and shaded seating. The intent is to provide a worthy place for remembrance, reflection, and reverence.

We would appreciate the help of present or former military members in developing the wording for the memorial. Our plan is to have a substantial hill country granite or limestone monolith near the center of the island incorporating the wording.

If you are present or former military service and would like to help with the memorial please contact James Woods at jrwpdw@nctv.com
