MAYOR'S CORNER
Greetings!

Both Hidden Falls and the City of Meadowlakes are members of the Marble Falls area Chamber of Commerce. Most of the Chamber members are owners of local businesses who are interested in working together to grow their businesses. There is a "Chamber Mixer" about once a month at which business owners and representatives gather at the location of one of the members to socialize after work. I've been attending to represent the City and Hidden Falls, and we have donated rounds of golf and restaurant gift certificates for the drawings, so our name is called out and winners will (hopefully) come to Hidden Falls, possibly for the first time, to eat and/or play golf.

As of October 1st , employees at Hidden Falls (restaurant and golf course) will be direct employees of the City of Meadowlakes. The legalities of this transition will be ongoing for a few more months, but Johnnie Thompson will be responsible for all operations. It is my opinion that the City of Meadowlakes is VERY lucky to have Johnnie - all the time, but especially now!
I live in the orchard part of Meadowlakes, and because of the extra wet spring followed by extra hot and dry summer, pecans (mostly poorly developed) and large tree limbs have already begun to fall. If you are walking in the orchard area, be alert!

Among the nice things our City government does for us, if you have an American flag that has become tattered, you can take it to City Hall for proper disposal. I believe the VFW and American Legion may also provide this service.
