MAYOR'S CORNER
Greetings!

In the near future, the City will be sending a letter to our residents and property owners to update everyone about the changes that have begun at Hidden Falls. The Meadowlakes PFC Board has served us well the past six years, but the Council agreed that it is time to bring the operations of the golf course and restaurant back under the direct supervision of the City.

Several changes have already taken place. Jeremy Grubbs is in charge of the Pro Shop and golf operations; Jamie Kizer continues to be responsible for golf course maintenance, and Allan Oppenheim is now in charge of the restaurant and bar, with Susan Ranow reporting to him and responsible for group and special events and bar operations. Jeremy, Jamie and Allan report directly to our City Manager, Johnnie Thompson. As of October 1st, the PFC Board will be composed of two Council members and me. One of the first orders of business, now that renovations of the dining room at Hidden Falls are almost completed, will be to replace most of the golf course maintenance equipment. During the winter "slow" time, the Pro Shop will receive new carpeting and paint.

For those who are new to this area, Allan Oppenheim owned and operated Houston's Depot restaurant until Atkins Pharmacy bought that location for its pharmacy on Hwy 281 across from Wal-Mart. I'm sure some of my old favorites from the Houston's Depot menu will make their way to the new Hidden Falls menu...can't wait! Soon, the hours at Hidden Falls will be extended so you can eat lunch and supper there Tuesday through Saturday and lunch on Sundays.
