MAYOR'S CORNER
Greetings!

There was a huge crowd at the new Baylor-Scott & White Hospital on Highways 71 at 281 for the ribbon cutting Tuesday evening. What a beautiful facility! It is not yet open for business, but it will be next week.   It took no more than 15 minutes from my driveway to the hospital's front door (and I had to stop for all of the lights). So now we have two major hospitals within a very short drive of the neighborhood. And that works both ways - we also have a number of hospital and professional building employees who have found out what a great place Meadowlakes is to live.

Work is in progress at the Hidden Falls Restaurant - new windows and flooring in the main dining room, removal of the outside part of the chimney that continued to leak, no matter what we did, repainting the walls, etc. The beautiful stone fireplace will remain on the inside, but without real wood-burning capability. Completion is targeted for no later than mid-August. In the meantime, great food and drink service are available as usual in the bar area and on the patio - and smaller meetings and card groups continue as usual in the Pecan Room just inside the newly installed front door. The Pro Shop is not affected by these changes.
