FIREWORKS PROHIBITED

Please remember that fireworks are prohibited. Below is the ordinance on fireworks:
(a) Definition. The term "fireworks" means any explosive device of any magnitude, including, but not limited to, firecrackers, Roman candles, fountains, rockets, air bombs, wheels and shells. An exception to this restriction is granted for possession and use of sparklers. Sparklers are allowed fireworks, with the restriction that use shall only be conducted by an adult, or used under the direct supervision of an adult, and further restricted that use does not include throwing of the sparkler.
(b) Prohibition. A person commits an offense if such person sells, uses, possesses or transports fireworks within the city.

On Saturday morning, you will want to participate in - or at least watch - the annual Fourth of July Parade sponsored by the POA...it gets bigger every year!
IMPORTANT REMINDER: MEADOWLAKES DOES NOT ALLOW FIREWORKS WITHIN OUR CITY LIMITS!
Even with all of the rain that we continue to enjoy, fireworks can cause fires. Instead, plan to watch the fireworks shows in Marble Falls, Horseshoe Bay and other areas.

GOLF CART REGULATIONS

The City has received lots complaints of unlicensed drivers operating golf carts. Remember that in order to operate a golf cart you must be a licensed driver or be accompanied by a licensed driver. Please click here to see the ordinance.
Also, don't forget that your golf cart must be registered at the City office in order to operate it on the city streets.

REMODELING PROJECTS

Before starting a remodeling project or having a roll-off dumpster placed on property, please submit a scope of work to the City Secretary, Christy Fath, at City Hall, for review in determining if a building permit is going to be needed or not. A lot of projects end up being more involved than first anticipated, so it's always best to check to see if you need a permit before starting a project to avoid any citations and fines. Fines can be up to $2,000 a day! We appreciate your cooperation on this matter.

PARKING RESTRICTIONS

With summer here upon us, many residents have children, grandchildren, family and/or friends coming to visit for several days to weeks. Residents need to be aware of the parking restrictions on our City streets. Below is an excerpt from Section 28-55 of the City Ordinances:
A person commits an offense if such person parks or permits to be parked a vehicle upon the street, without a city-issued parking permit. A vehicle may not be stored or parked for more than 72 hours in any seven-day time period or for more than seven days in any 30-day period. For purposes of defining the 72-hour time allowance, the time shall start accumulating at time of day of the vehicle's initial presence on any street within the city and ends at the time of day when the vehicle either exits the city (or is stored in the owner's driveway or garage) for more than 24 hours. On intermediate days (between the time of initial presence and the end of the allowed period), the vehicle shall be considered parked for a complete day (24 hours) if at any time during that day the vehicle is parked (within view) on any lot or street. The moving of the vehicle during the allowable period (including exiting and reentering the city within less than 24 hours), or relocating the vehicle to other lots or streets, shall not reset the time accumulation.
Any person owning or occupying residential premises may obtain a temporary overnight parking permit for visitors or persons temporarily staying in such premises upon written application made and filed with the office of the city manager prior to the time such automobiles or other vehicles are parked on the street. No such permit shall exceed seven days, and no more than three such permits may be issued for any premises during any calendar year without prior approval. Such permit shall be in writing and displayed on the automobile at all times when parked on the streets of the city. Such permission shall be granted by the city manager or his designated agent upon a showing of the following:
a. That the premises in question does not have adequate space for the parking of automobiles of persons temporarily visiting or occupying such premises. b. That the person making such application cannot, without undue hardship, obtain off-street parking facilities on a temporary basis for such vehicles within the vicinity of such property.

WATERING RESTRICTIONS

Effective immediately mandatory water restrictions have been lifted. We will remain in Stage 2 of our Drought Contingency Plan however the mandatory restriction will be lifted and replaced with a request for voluntary compliance. The schedule for the voluntary compliance is as follows:
Residential:Odd number addresses: Wednesdays and Saturdays
Even number addresses: Thursdays and Sundays Commercial:
(including large landscapes such as POA common areas) Tuesdays and Fridays Watering with a hose end sprinkler or automatic irrigation system is permitted on the scheduled day between the hours of midnight to 10 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to midnight. Hand watering is permitted any day between the hours of midnight and 10 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to midnight but only with a hand-held positive shutoff nozzle or bucket. LOST AND FOUND

We have had a remote to a vehicle turned in that was found on Turkey Run. If this is yours, please contact Christy Fath, City Secretary, at (830) 693-6840 to claim.
Also, we have had some of the following items turned into City Hall over the past year: keyboxes with keys in them, a cordless phone, several garage door openers, eyeglasses and sunglasses. If you have lost any of these items please contact the City Secretary to claim it.
