MAYOR'S CORNER
| | Greetings!
One unpleasant side effect of the storms has been the loss of my NCTV internet service. It could be worse - my neighbors use NCTV for internet, TV and phone. Luckily they have cell phone service that is NOT through NCTV. I've not had email access since Monday morning! So if you need me, please call my home (830-693-6135). An even more unpleasant side effect is the number of snakes that have been driven to seek refuge in our garages, etc. The photo below was taken in a garage near the Meadowlakes gate. Please look before you reach for something - even up on a shelf! PEC ballots arrived in our mailboxes last week. I attend the PEC monthly Board meetings as often as possible, and I served on the PEC Candidate Qualification Review committee again this year. Call me with any questions. Mary Ann Raesener Mayor

GOLF COURSE TEMPORARY CLOSURE
| |
Course Closed
Due to the historic rains over the past week, we regret that we must close the golf course through Monday, June 1, 2015. The pool will also be closed through this Friday, May 29th. We will open on the weekend with limited operating hours. We will open at 10:00am and close at 5:00pm Saturday and Sunday. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, though we needed the rain, it has left us with course conditions that are less than ideal.

BOAT RAMP CLOSURE
| | Due to the recent storm, the public boat ramp at Meadowlakes Lakeside Park will be closed for repairs thru at least the middle of next week.
|
REMODELING PROJECTS
| | Before starting a remodeling project, please submit a scope of work to the City Secretary, Christy Fath, at City Hall, for review in determining if a building permit is going to be needed or not. A lot of projects end up being more involved than first anticipated, so it's always best to check to see if you need a permit before starting a project to avoid any citations and fines. We appreciate your cooperation on this matter.
|
SNAKE ADVISORY
| | Please take EXTREME caution in or around your home or out and about in the City. Recently the City has received several calls regarding sightings of snakes and several snakes have been exterminated in the past few weeks. Please click here to find an excerpt from a publication from the Texas Department of State Health Services. |
GOLF CART REGULATIONS
| | With summer coming near and children will be becoming more active around the City, we would like to remind you about the ordinances regulating the operation and use of golf carts. We have received lots complaints of unlicensed drivers operating golf carts throughout the year. Please click here to see the ordinance. |

WEBWORM CONTROL COOP UPDATE
| | Meadowlakes Webworm Control Coop - Update A few webworm "webs" are already starting to appear in trees on Meadowlakes Drive and San Saba Street. Spotting webs in May is unusually early based on recent years' experience in Meadowlakes. The Coop will continue close monitoring of this development and will keep property owners updated using the email addresses you supplied. For those yet to supply an email addresses; email me and I will include you in all future updates. The Coop has incorporated all property owner payments as a result of receipts collected from the April billing cycle. These receipts coupled with prior year carryover credits result in 336 out of the 413 total properties with pecan trees being funded for the first spray of the webworm season. There are however, 77 properties that are not funded as of this date. For property owners who have yet to decide to participate in the upcoming spray, there is still time; so please return you letters with payment and you will be included in the upcoming spray. The recent "wetter" than normal weather is very conducive to increased webworm infestations. The Coop encourages all who have pecan trees to participate in the spray program. Call or email me if you have questions. John Aaron Coop President 830-693-1110 jwaaron@nctv.com |
