MAYOR'S CORNER
| |
Greetings! By the time you read this, I should be at home recovering from minor surgery (carpal tunnel release for my right wrist and removal of a bone spur in my left foot). You probably won't see me walking my big red dog around the neighborhood for a couple of weeks, but my daughter will take over that duty. There's an old saying that goes something like this: Minor surgery is what other people have...if it happens to me, it is Major surgery; however, this one is truly minor! The Valentine's Day Dinner Dance was a big success -I hear it was truly a good time had by all. Great food, great music, great company! Unfortunately, I had to miss it due to a long-standing prior commitment. I'll do better for the Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day events! Allied Waste can provide special service for residents who are physically unable to get their big blue trash cans to the curb and back to their homes. You can call 830-693-2208 for more information.

SCHOOL BUS TRAFFIC
| | The City has received some complaints about vehicles not stopping for the school buses. The buses come through the neighborhood beginning at 6:50 a.m. through 7:40 a.m. and at approximately 11:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. through 4:40 p.m. Please use extra caution while driving during these times. As a reminder, it is against the law to pass a school bus in either direction when the lights are on, and the fine for doing so is a minimum of $500.
|
GOLF CART REGULATIONS
| | With the nicer weather we have had here and there and to come, children are becoming more active around the City, we would like to remind you about the ordinances regulating the operation and use of golf carts. We have received many complaints of unlicensed drivers operating golf carts. Please click here to see the ordinance. |
HOBBY GROUPS
| |
Harold Vanicek is an amateur astronomer who would like to organize "star parties" with other residents to study the stars. He says residents do not have to own a telescope to participate, but because Meadowlakes does not have street lights we offer a very dark viewing sky. His email address is hvanicek@gmail.com , and his telephone number is 830-998-4952.
Ben Donnell is an intermediate chess player and would like to find others with his skill set to play at his home or the Hidden Falls Restaurant. Ben has been traveling to Austin to enjoy his hobby. Ben's email address is bddonnell3@yahoo.com, and his telephone number is 512-999-8505.
