MAYOR'S CORNER
Greetings!

I love Texas weather!

Last week, cold and misty - then warm and sunny the first part of this week, and a downpour is forecast for Thursday, followed by warm and sunny for the weekend! Our trees are confused...some have lost all of their leaves and are budding out already. Others are hanging onto leaves, but the next cold rainy snap may finally get them to let go. The street gutters are already full of leaves, especially in the orchard area, and may form dams leading to big puddles - but hopefully not to flooding.

When I'm walking, I pick up any trash I see. Luckily, we are pretty neat around here. I can easily get all of the trash I find into a regular grocery bag. When I lived across the street from a Grapevine Lake park and walked around the shore, I had to take a 33 gallon garbage bag - sometimes two after a weekend. But every little bit helps!

There was some concern when Hidden Falls began a new mowing program that left some areas of rough out of the mowing cycle. I'm not a golfer, but my house backs up to the course, and so far it looks just as beautiful as ever. I expect I'll hear from golfers who land in the rough and thoroughly disagree.

Have a great week!
