MAYOR'S CORNER
| | Greetings! August 29th is the deadline for Meadowlakes residents to submit an application to serve on either the: - Planning & Zoning Commission (meets once a year to get organized - and thereafter, only if a zoning change is requested...which is rare in Meadowlakes these days) - three vacancies
- Building Committee (meets twice a month to review proposals to build new homes, pools, fences, etc. - and then follows up to be sure all city requirements are met) - four vacancies
- Meadowlakes Public Facility Corporation (PFC) Board (usually meets at least once a month and is responsible for oversight of the management of the Hidden Falls Golf Course and Restaurant) - three vacancies.
I know we are all busy with our families and other responsibilities, but the City needs qualified residents to step up! If we don't have enough applications by August 29th, we can extend the filing period...in hopes that after Labor Day, everyone will be back from vacations, etc. and ready to get to work to keep our City on track! Marble Falls High School's first home football game is this Friday night, against longtime rival, Burnet. We have several players living in Meadowlakes, along with band members, cheerleaders, drill team members, etc. The games are great fun - and the view from the home team side of the field is always gorgeous. Support our team!

WEBWORM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
| | Call for Volunteers Meadowlakes Webworm Control COOP Dale Fixsen, the COOP's treasurer recently resigned from the COOP Board of Directors due to his upcoming relocation to North Carolina. For the past seven years, Dale has served on the board as treasurer, with the responsibilities of "keeper" of the financials and preparation of member billings/receivables for the 400-plus property owners that have pecan trees in Meadowlakes. The Board would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks and gratitude to Dale for the major amount of time and effort expended in serving the COOP and the community. With Dale's retirement the COOP must now put out a call for volunteers. Residents who have an interest in serving on the Board are requested to contact me at number listed below. The skills and experience required for the position are those associated with "light bookkeeping" and use of MS Excel software. John Aaron, President 830-693-1110 |
