DROUGHT UPDATE
|
|
MANDATORY ONCE A WEEK WATERING NOW IN EFFECT
Once-a-Week Outdoor Watering Schedule: Address ends in: Your watering day is: 0 or 1 Monday 2 or 3 Tuesday 4 or 5 Wednesday 6 or 7 Thursday 8 or 9 Friday
Watering with a hose end sprinkler or automatic irrigation system is permitted on the scheduled day between the hours of Midnight to 10 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to midnight. Hand watering is permitted any day between the hours of midnight and 10 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to midnight but only with a hand-held positive shutoff nozzle or bucket.
City staff will be available to help with programming of your irrigation system timer if needed. If you would like assistance with changing the programming on your irrigation system timer please call city hall at 830-693-2951.
We also suggest checking the sprinkler heads in your irrigation system to make sure that they are adjusted and working properly so that they are not wasting water by spraying onto the street, sidewalks or driveway.
You may have received a phone call from the City of Marble Falls regarding your scheduled watering day. Please do not follow this schedule. Meadowlakes is not using the same watering schedule as Marble Falls. These calls are from an automated system. We are trying to determine why they are calling Meadowlakes and hope to have the problem resolved shortly.
There will be more information about the drought and our drought contingency plan available on our website: www.meadowlakestexas.org. We will also have links posted there for additional information about the drought from the LCRA.
The following enforcement provisions shall apply to all City of Meadowlakes retail water customers:
First Violation: Notice issued
Second Violation: Fine of up to $250
Third Violation: Fine of up to $500

WEBWORM CONTROL
| | Meadowlakes Webworm Control COOP The Coop recently mailed a letter of inquiry to property owners who have pecan trees in Meadowlakes. The letter is for the purpose of updating the Coop's accounting of property owner's pecan tree as well as to provide information on enhancements made in the Coop's billing process for 2014. The Coop letter requests that recipients provide feedback on the total number of pecan trees that exist on their property as well as the number of trees that are accessible for spraying with the tractor-pulled spray rig. Trees that are in a front yard or backyard which have open access from the backside (for example, property that backs up to the golf course) are likely accessible by the tractor-pulled rig. Trees located in owner's fenced backyard will need to be sprayed by the hand spray rig, and if so please provide the number. The Coop requests recipients fill-in the number of trees in the blanks provided and return as instructed in the letter. Please contact the Coop if you need assistance in determining which category particular trees should be placed in. The Coop billing process has been adjusted for 2014 as an outreach effort to encourage new property owners and previous members to join the program. The Coop is concerned with the continuing decline of the overall number of trees being sprayed each year. To hopefully reverse the trend, the billing list is expanded to owners of all pecan trees and the amount billed is being reduced to minimize the required money outlays to become a member. In 2014, the amount billed is reduced to only one spray instead of the normal three sprays in previous years. Recipients of the letter are encouraged to return the completed letter in a timely manner to enable the updates to form the basis of the upcoming billing. Anyone with pecan trees who did not receive the letter may contact the undersigned at 830-693-1110 or jwaaron@nctv.com. John Aaron President, Webworm Coop
