Address ends in:                   Your watering day is:
0 or 1                                      Monday
2 or 3                                      Tuesday
4 or 5                                      Wednesday
6 or 7                                      Thursday
8 or 9                                       Friday

Watering with a hose end sprinkler or automatic irrigation system is permitted on the scheduled day between the hours of Midnight to 10 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to midnight. Hand watering is permitted any day between the hours of 12 midnight and 10 a.m. and from 7 p.m. to 12 midnight but only with a hand-held positive shutoff nozzle or bucket.

City staff will be available to help with programming of your irrigation system timer if needed. If you would like assistance with changing the programming on your irrigation system timer please call city hall at 830-693-2951.

We also suggest checking the sprinkler heads in your irrigation system to make sure that they are adjusted and working properly so that they are not wasting water by spraying onto the street, sidewalks or driveway.

You may have received a phone call from the City of Marble Falls regarding your scheduled watering day. Please do not follow this schedule. Meadowlakes is not using the same watering schedule as Marble Falls. These calls are from an automated system. We are trying to determine why they are calling Meadowlakes and hope to have the problem resolved shortly.

There will be more information about the drought and our drought contingency plan available on our website: www.meadowlakestexas.org.  We will also have links posted there for additional information about the drought from the LCRA.

The following enforcement provisions shall apply to all City of Meadowlakes retail water customers:

First Violation: Notice issued

Second Violation: Fine of up to $250

POLITICAL SIGNS
Political signs are allowed.  Please place signs approximately 10 feet from the curb to avoid being in the City Right of Way.

SNAKES!!
A resident on San Saba killed a large water moccasin snake Monday on their property. It was close to four feet  long.

This should serve as a reminder that the city is pretty much in the country and with the lake running through there are varmints and snakes all over. We usually don't see them because most are nocturnal and roam at night.

Snakes are very active this time of the year when the weather is warming up. They can be in flower beds stretched out straight along a door threshold and in wood piles.

When doing your spring outdoor activities, watch where you put your hands and where you step. They are not usually aggressive, but if they are startled or if they are protecting their young they may become more aggressive than normal.

SAFETY CONCERNS

The City wants to remind all citizens to be cautious about throwing away any personal information that could potentially be used in identity theft or fraud.

SPEEDERS BEWARE

In March and April there were 26 warnings issued for speeding. Beginning May 1st officers will no longer be issuing warnings, any violators will be issued a citation.

EMERGENCY TRAINING

REDUCE YOUR LOSSES IN A COMMUNITY DISASTER

In 95% of all emergencies, bystanders and everyday citizens provide the first immediate assistance on the scene. Without the proper training, how would you know what to do? You may not think you need to learn - but the moment an incident or disaster occurs - you will regret not having learned.

CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a training program that prepares you to help yourself, your family and your neighbors in the event of a disaster when emergency personnel may not be able to reach everyone right away.

Under the direction of local emergency responders, CERT teams help provide critical support by giving immediate assistance to victims, providing damage assessment information and helping to organize other volunteers at a disaster site.

Volunteers trained in CERT also offer a potential workforce value for performing duties such as shelter support, crowd control and evacuation. The role of a CERT volunteer is to help others until trained emergency personnel arrive. Through this training, you will know better how to help yourself and those around you survive in the immediacy of the disaster.

On Thursday, May 1, 2014 the Burnet County Office of Emergency Management will begin holding a series of free CERT training classes for residents of the community, as well as property owners associations and organizations so that they can individually be better prepared to help themselves, their families, loves ones and neighbors. This first class of 2014 will be held from 7:00 pm - 10:00 p.m. at Freedom Flyers (Across from Seton Hospital) 3202 US 281 in Burnet.

This program is made possible by a CAPCOG Citizens Corps Grant Program/CERT which provides the funds for training equipment and supplies.

To register for this class, and get more information and the entire training schedule, contact Jim Gallagher, CERT Training Officer at [email protected]

Information is also available on the Burnet County website, www.burnetcountytexas.org
