ELECTION CORNER

January 29th was the first day to file for a place on the ballot for the general election to be held on May 10. The deadline to file is February 28th by 5:00 p.m. There are three positions open; Place 1 currently held by Mary Ann Raesener, Place 3 currently held by Gary Hammond, and the Mayor's position. Election packets are available at City Hall for anyone interesting in filing.

Future election updates will be available in this column.

UPDATE: If there are contested positions, the drawing for a place on the ballot will take place on Monday, March 3rd at 3:00 p.m. at City Hall

IRRIGATION ORDINANCE
The City of Meadowlakes passed an ordinance on 2/11/14 requiring a permit for installation of all new irrigation systems. The cost for this permit is $35 and includes one inspection. For more information, please contact City Hall at 693-6840.

COMMUNITY GARDEN

The Meadowlakes Community Garden is located on the corner of Mahan & Quail (the area behind the picket fence). The City provides a 100 x 25 foot garden area to be shared and also provides water. We have two hoses that cover the garden area. The City plows the area twice a year.

The deadline to sign up for a plot in the community garden for the spring/summer planting season is March 1st. The community garden is located on Mahan. For more information or to request a plot, please email Grover Howell at groverhowell@yahoo.com

FALLS CUP

6th Annual Falls Cup Tournament

Saturday, March 1st
1:00pm shotgun start
$20 for members & $45 for
Non-Members/ Social/Medical Members

The format will be, 4 team captains will draft 4 teams. 2 person alternate shot on the front 9 and a scramble on the back. Winners will receive pro shop credit, food and beverages for prizes, but best of all BRAGGING RIGHTS as Falls Cup Champions. The winners will also decide where the proceeds will be used towards the club. Any questions or to sign up please contact us at the pro shop
