Grade 7 Washinton DC Trip Info

Dear St. Mary School 7th Grade Parents,

Our 4th Annual Washington DC Trip is scheduled for Tuesday, March 14-Friday, March 17, 2017. We have partnered again with the prestigious tour company, Explore America, to plan and organize this trip.

Our experience traveling with our 7th graders has been one of absolute pleasure and a beautiful growth experience educationally, spiritually, and socially for these Jr. High Students.

Here is St Mary Washington DC Trip 2017 logistical information we have in place to date. As we get closer to our trip all of these details will be confirmed.

Here is an information sheet from our tour company, Explore America, which provides trip payment information and a draft outline of each day's planned activities.

The cost of the trip for each traveler is $905.00 ($135 for monthly payment plan if enrolled by September 30.) As soon as the majority of our group is enrolled, the tour company is able to confirm all activities and make the necessary reservations.

Many of our students are participating in the Mum sale to help offset the cost of their trip. As soon as those proceeds are cleared, the money earned by each student will be deposited directly into their DC travel account that you create. Your monthly payment would immediately reflect the balance due. We understand that parents have ideas on additional fundraisers for the trip...we'll be sure to share those details as they become available. Our hope is that every 7th grader will travel with their class. Please let Miss Rosemond know if this trip will be a financial burden and we will do our best to work with you to make it happen.

At next week's Jr. High Back to School Night (Wednesday, September 7,) there will be an Explore America informational booklet and the above flyers available in hard copy in the 7th Grade Homeroom Classrooms. Mr. Laudeman, Mrs. Cassady, and Mrs. Moody will also speak with you about the DC Trip experience during your scheduled time in their classrooms. The 7th Grade Social Studies Curriculum covers American History and Language Art Classes will be reading novels on the Holocaust in preparation of their visit to the Holocaust Museum.
