What Does That Mean?
Helpful Terms and Insurance Lingo

Explanation of Benefits (EOB):
A form sent to the covered person, after a claim has been processed by the carrier, that explains the action taken on that claim. This explanation might include the amount that will be paid, the benefits available, reasons for denying payment, or the claims appeal process.

Carolina Care Plan & Consumers Life leaving SC & GA in 2014
|
|
Effective January 1, 2014 Medical Mutual and its Family of Companies, including Carolina Care Plan "CCP" & Consumers Life, will be exiting the medical insurance market in Georgia, Indiana, and South Carolina. They have made the decision to focus on their core business in Ohio.
CCP & Consumers Life have made arrangements with United Health Care "UHC" to transition their group products. UHC will require groups to complete additional paperwork to initiate the change.
Individual policies are being recommended to UHC. There are additional individual plan options that you should look into as well. Beginning in 2014 all carriers will have the same requirements under health care reform.
