Will Fisher Coastal Quartet
Mark March 9, 2013 on your calendar and prepare to get all jazzed up. Nominated for 2013 ECMA Jazz Recording of the Year, and named "one of last year's strongest Canadian jazz debuts" (Ottawa Citizen), the Will Fisher Coastal Quartet blends together contemporary jazz with world and roots influences. The group has toured across Central and Eastern Canada over the last year, and received airplay across North America. Joining Will for the show will be a stunning line-up of Nova Scotia talent including Paul Tynan (trumpet), Geordie Haley (guitar), Tom Easly (bass) and Truro's Will Fisher (drums). Augusto Enriquez Showcase!
What a show put on by Augusto Enriquez, Jeff Goodspeed and Los Primos last month. The evening featured a wonderful selection of high energy Cuban music with the 13-piece band! Augusto then wrapped the crowd around him with this very emotional presentation of Caruso, a tribute to Italian tenor Enrico Caruso, written by Lucio Dalla in 1986. The song tells about the pain and longings of a man who is about to die while he is looking into the eyes of a girl who was very dear to him.
