The spring 2016 edition of the Campus Telephone Directory is now available. Listings include all updates received by February 1. To access the directory, log in to myIPFW and click the My Home tab. Download the directory to your desktop for easy access!
 
The TelOps webpage has a new look. Find links for easy access to useful resources, including the Quick Reference and Yellow Pages from the 2016 directory and a direct link to the Request for Service Form.
Find LSA Working Group Recommendation Info Page Online This Week
The information page about the LSA Working Group Recommendations will open this week. Look for details in Thursday's From the Desk of the Chancellor. The page will include downloadable versions of key documents, links to stories in the media, and a Q&A section to ask questions and learn more.
Say 'Thanks!' with a RIPPLE
Looking for a way to show your appreciation for an employee, peer, or coworker who went above and beyond? Send them a RIPPLES award, a simple way to say thank you!

Human Resources and Office of Institutional Equity (HR-OIE) will begin sharing the RIPPLES that are awarded to employees by publishing them on the HR-OIE website and announcing them here and in From the Desk of the Chancellor. Find details about the RIPPLES program, including the meaning of the acronym, on the HR-OIE website.

Learn How to Manage Time

In the next Mastodon Career Call Webinar, learn from Logan Franke of Vector Marketing the difference between urgent and important and how to make more time for the latter. Join the Free SENCER Workshop
You are invited to attend any or all of the SENCER (Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities) presentations sponsored by the Central Plains SCI (SENCER Center for Innovation) at Butler University, Friday, February 12.
 
Sessions will be led by Stephen Carroll, Ph.D., of Santa Clara University, who will discuss how to use assessment practices to drive innovation in teaching and learning, especially in undergraduate learning communities. Carroll's research focuses on using the latest findings in neurobiology, cognitive science, and learning theory to improve teaching and learning. He is especially focused on helping students become more self-directed learners by teaching them meta-learning skills. Plan to attend Friday, February 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Learn more

Think your department has the most spirit?
Let's paint the campus blue and white! Register for the Homecoming Department Decorating Contest and show off your spirit with decorative walkways, windows, walls, and doors! Dress up the place with a tribute to this year's theme, "Color Me Don," our blue and white colors, or photos of the men's basketball and volleyball teams that will be playing Homecoming Saturday. Participating departments will receive 10 free homecoming t-shirts and discounted game tickets! Learn more and register your department

Come out and show your IPFW spirit by volunteering at one (or many!) of our 2016 Homecoming events. This year promises to be the most ambitious and DON-tastic Homecoming yet, but

Attend an Open House for Revamped MBA Programs
The Doermer School of Business will host two information sessions for individuals interested in earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Both the Professional MBA and the MBA+ programs were recently updated to enhance the student experience and better meet the region's business needs. You can attend either of these sessions:
  • Thursday, February 4, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Alternative Spring Break Urban Plunge
United Way of Allen County, IPFW, and Ivy Tech are partnering for the third straight year to bring a unique opportunity to college students-Alternative Spring Break Urban Plunge. Over the course of a four-day program focused on local social issues, students will learn about community needs and how they can help make a difference. Components of the program will include:
  • Interactive sessions with local nonprofit organizations
  • Tours of nonprofit organizations in Fort Wayne
  • Volunteer service projects at local nonprofit agencies
  • Networking opportunities with local nonprofit agencies

New Internal Funding Opportunities through IRSC
The Institute for Research, Scholarships, and Creative Endeavors (IRSC) has announced three new internal funding opportunities:
  • Faculty Course Release Grant
  • Faculty Community Engagement Grant
  • Collaborative Research Grant

The deadline for proposals is February 29 at 3 p.m. A workshop outlining the review process and providing insights into writing internal grant proposals will be held Friday, February 5, from noon to 1 p.m. in Kettler Hall, Room G46. Questions? Contact Shannon Bischoff, bischofs@ipfw.edu
