Improved HR/OIE Training Now Easier to Use
Human Resources and Office of Institutional Equity will launch a revised and enhanced annual online training program October 1. The training will still consist of five modules, however, all modules will be in WebCert, making it easier to access the training and track your progress. All modules have been updated and several are approximately 20 minutes long with shorter quizzes, making them easier to complete. Staff and faculty will have until mid-January 2016 to complete the training.

For more information and to access the training, visit the HR training website and click on the Online Training tab.
Purchasing Tips and Reminders
Purchasing partners with IPFW departments to procure goods and services in support of the university's mission. There is an established internal process for purchasing authorizations, and staff has been trained to enter orders in the Ariba purchasing system. However, faculty and staff should always contact Purchasing before placing orders estimated at $10,000 or more. This threshold applies to the entire requisition, not just a single item. Purdue policy requires such purchases to follow a formal bid process. Contact Purchasing as soon as you begin to develop the project. Purchasing staff will work with you to find products, select vendors, gather pricing data, and complete the process in a timely manner. For more details, visit the Purchasing website.

Authorization to sign purchasing contracts on behalf of the university lies with Purchasing and the Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs. If your purchase involves a contract, send a copy to Cyndy Elick, purchasing director, elick@ipfw.edu, and be sure to copy your business manager. Purchasing will review for certain standard terms and conditions; however, departments should also review these terms and conditions, as the obligations to abide primarily rest with the key stakeholder within the department. Please allow time for this review process. Visit the Purchasing website for general and specific purchasing information, forms, handouts, and contacts.
