Consistent Editorial Style Matters!
Developing strong, cohesive messages that are in line with university standards strengthen the IPFW brand and enhance the image of your department, office, or division. All faculty and staff writers should adhere to the IPFW style standards outlined in the IPFW Editorial Style Guide [PDF].
An updated guide is now available at ipfw.edu/style-guide. This reference tool will help you follow a style that is consistent and appropriate for internal and external audiences. The guide follows conventions outlined in the Associated Press Stylebook and the Chicago Manual of Style, with exceptions based on IPFW preferences.

Don't Rock the Boat: Right the Ship
Have you ever wondered if your relationship with a coworker would improve if only he or she understood your perspective? Do you need help resolving a workplace disagreement? Human Resources and Office of Institutional Equity has established a Neutral Conflict Resolution (NCR) program to help resolve conflict and preserve your work relationships.
Conflict resolution is most effective when disagreements are resolved at an early stage, but even in the later stages of disagreement, NCR is a positive way to resolve work relationship issues.
Trained NCR representatives can help you identify important issues and understand different perspectives, and can act as mediators to foster understanding and create strategies for managing problems.
Full program details will be available on the Human Resources and Office of Institutional Equity website beginning September 21, which coincides with the International Day of Peace, a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace. An update with a link to the NCR webpage will be included in a future edition of this newsletter.
