Wireless Changes Coming July 18

On the evening of Saturday, July 18, changes will be made to the wireless access on campus that will require all existing laptops, phones, and tablets to be reconfigured to use new Service Set Identifier (SSID) names:

IPFW Student (replaces IPFW-WRLS)
IPFW Faculty Staff (replaces IPFW-WRLS)
IPFW Visitor Only (replaces IPFW-WRLS-GUEST)

Additionally, a new SSID will be created called IPFW Start Here that will direct you to a default webpage with clear instructions for getting connected.

If your device is configured to connect to IPFW-WRLS after July 18 you will receive an error message that the network is no longer available; then you will need to connect to one of the wireless networks mentioned above. Visit the IPFW Wireless Express setup page for configuration instructions after July 18 or contact the ITS Help Desk with questions at helpdesk@ipfw.edu or 481-6030.

Annual Reminder for Outside Activities

A memo concerning outside activities has been issued by Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs David Wesse that addresses these policies:

Outside activities and conflict of interest disclosure statements
Temporary off-campus use of university equipment
Security and confidentiality of personal information
Sabbaticals
Departmental travel policy
Signature delegations

Printer Maintenance Agreements

Instructions for renewing printer maintenance agreements for Fiscal Year 2016 were sent to departments via email May 21, and signed maintenance renewal forms were to have been sent to Purchasing by June 19. Questions should be directed to Connie Rosenbloom, rosenblc@ipfw.edu.

Athletics Center Summer Membership Rates Reduced

Looking for a cool place to enjoy fitness? Join the Athletics Center. All summer membership prices are reduced:

$15 for IPFW faculty, staff, retirees
$20 for IPFW Alumni
$30 for IU and Purdue alumni
$30 for other college students

Fitness memberships can be purchased at the customer service desk on the first floor of the Athletics Center. All members can receive a free "getting started" fitness consultation from a certified personal fitness trainer.
