For 50 years IPFW has served northeast Indiana with pride as a wellspring of higher education. Together, we have a lot to Celebrate. As we celebrate 1,928 graduates at today's Commencement, we're just beginning.
On Saturday, May 17, we are presenting our flagship 50th Celebration public art project, Sculpture with Purpose.™ IPFW is helping to create an even more vibrant and creative campus and community through sculptural bike racks installed widely throughout our area. Join us at 11:30 a.m. in front of the Arts United Center on East Main Street---- IPFW's presentation is part of the inaugural Kickstart event. For more information about Kickstart, go to visitfortwayne.com/kickstart.
Learn more or see photos at sculpturewithpurpose.com. Also, if you like scavenger hunts, check out our Find the Triangle contest, where you could win one of fifty $100 gift certificates by identifying the triangles in the sculptures.
What's your Reason to Celebrate? Last fall, we asked campus and community to share why they celebrate IPFW. Now you can start reading the winning entries---- one will be featured each week at celebrateipfw.com.
Celebrate IPFW's milestone by making a difference. Another important Celebration initiative is our 50,000 hours of volunteering. A new app, available Saturday, will allow you to track your volunteer hours at many regional agencies. Learn more at celebrateipfw.com.
Check the website regularly for events, merchandise, and more. We'll see you Saturday, as we Celebrate IPFW!

IT Security: Legitimate Businesses Never Ask for Usernames or Passwords
Phishing (pronounced fishing) is a tactic that criminals use to con people out of their usernames, passwords, bank account info, etc. It relies on no special technical skill other than being able to send an email to a large group of people asking them to reply with their username and password or to log into a website using a link provided in the email. Usually the emails threaten the loss of an account, a change to an email system, a need to "verify" your account, or some other critical-sounding explanation. These are almost never legitimate and you should never reply with your login credentials. When in doubt, check the What's Up security channel and/or forward the message to helpdesk@ipfw.edu.
