Two Budget-Related Forums Remain
Two budget-related forums will be presented by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs. Those requested to participate, if available, are the vice chancellors and their direct reports, deans, associate deans, chairs, faculty leadership, and the campus budget committee. All faculty and business mangers are welcome to attend and listen to the discussion.

Featured Faculty Lecture Series

The Featured Faculty Lecture Series continues Wednesday, March 5, when Jeff Casazza, associate professor of theatre, presents "A Return to Childhood: How We Speak and Why We Lose Our Voices." The lecture will be in the Helmke Library Learning Commons from noon to 1 p.m.

APSAC Administrative Excellence Award
Each year the Administrative and Professional Staff Advisory Council (APSAC) honors an employee who has demonstrated excellence in job performance, excellence in service, and/or outstanding contributions to the university. If you know of a colleague who is worthy of the Administrative Excellence Award, please submit a nomination form by Friday, March 28.

Use IPFW Media Training Guide and Gain Confidence
One of the most effective ways of reaching prospective and current students, alumni, and the community at large is through the local media. Volunteer for The BIG Event, March 29
Over 32 community agencies and nonprofits have already signed up for The BIG Event Saturday, March 29. Last year over 800 volunteers from the university donated their time and services to local agencies in the northeast Indiana community.
This year The BIG Event is looking at a goal of 1,000 volunteers. Donate your time and talent and register today!

Still Time to Apply for Urban Plunge
Alternative Spring Break: Urban Plunge will take place March 10-14 in Fort Wayne. Coordinated by United Way of Allen County, participating students will spend the week working at nearly a dozen of our local nonprofits.
The Urban Plunge project is the recipient of a $1,000 grant from Indiana Campus Compact, with an additional $1,000 awarded for an inter-campus collaboration. Only a few slots remain. Event Encourages "Awesome" Body Image
Learn to embrace all of the great things about yourself at IPFW's upcoming event "You're Awesome ... Accept It," Tuesday, March 4, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Walb Union Ballroom. IPFW Athletics Update
Women's Basketball had a big home win last weekend over conference leader and in-state rival IUPUI (78--73). This moves the Dons into a tie for third place in the Summit League. The team will take on Western Illinois Thursday and Omaha in Saturday's season finale. Amanda Hyde continues to rack up player of the week honors, garnering her fourth award this season with her performance against IUPUI.
Men's Basketball went on the road to IUPUI and pulled out a win, 84--60. The victory gave the Dons their 20th win of the season, the fifth in program history and the first since 1992--93. The team is tied for second place in the Summit League and continues its road trip with a match up against Western Illinois Thursday and the season finale at Omaha on Saturday.
Men's Volleyball pulled out an upset last Thursday, taking down no. 10 Lewis in a five-set match. The win helped put the Dons back into the AVCA Division I-II Coaches Top 15 Poll, coming at no. 15 in this week's poll. After a tough loss to no. 1 ranked Loyola last Saturday, the Dons return home this Friday to take on Mount Olive, and again Saturday when they face Barton in a 7 p.m. match-up.
The 2013--14 Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held in the field house this Friday and Saturday. Tickets for this exciting event can be purchased at the ticket office inside the Gates Athletic Center main entrance.
