Homecoming 2013: Feel the Rumble
This year's week-long Homecoming celebration, "Feel the Rumble," will be December 2-- 7, ending Saturday with the men's basketball game vs. Dartmouth at 7 p.m.
Monday
- The week kicks off with coffee and donuts with alumni at 9 a.m. Alumni will be in Kettler Hall to pass out treats to current students.
Tuesday
- Students, staff, and faculty can compete in the first round of the cupcake eating contest in the Walb Classic Ballroom from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Winners from this round will face off Saturday at the tailgate celebration before the Homecoming game.
Wednesday
- Faculty/staff vs. student basketball game at the Gates Sports Center. Admission fee is a canned good item. Game starts at 7 p.m.
Thursday
- Dodge ball tournament at 7 p.m. at Gates Sports Center. At midnight, students have the opportunity to participate in the Polar Bear Plunge. Students will meet at Housing, run to the Venderly Bridge, and jump into the frigid waters of the Saint Joseph River.
- A bloodmobile will be parked on the Science Mall from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. to accept donations. (Not included on the schedule of events, below)
Friday
- Pep rally at the Gates Sports Center starting at noon. Players from the basketball team will be doing meet-and-greets. Students will be able to participate in the Chuck a Don contest, as well as witness the championship round of the cupcake eating contest.
Saturday
- Alumni awards starting at 3 p.m., followed by the Hall of Fame Lunch at 4 p.m. Proceeds from a silent auction will benefit the Mastodon Athletic Scholarship Fund. Items available for bidding range from a private wine tasting at Two EE's Winery in Roanoke to an official 2012 Olympic jacket autographed by Lloy Ball.
- Homecoming celebration at 5:30 p.m. at the Coliseum Expo Center, complete with a hog roast.
- Men's basketball game in the main arena at the Coliseum, when the Mastodons will take on Dartmouth at 7 p.m. The homecoming king and queen along with their court will be announced at halftime.
All Week
- This year's department decorating contest will be judged by three IPFW alumni.
- Homecoming King and Queen voting all over campus.
- Student organizations' Homecoming Sheets on display in the Walb Union stairwell.
