Open Enrollment Reminder: Deadline is November 15
As of Monday, November 11, IPFW benefit enrollment was at 61 percent. Although the goal of 90 percent was not met, Human Resources is enthusiastic about the number of employees who have enrolled. The following recipients received this year's incentives by enrolling by Friday, November 8; Tina Grady will reach out to recipients the week of November 18:
Gates Athletics Center Memberships
Stephany Alarcon - Diversity the Multicultural Affairs
Brian Johnson - Dental Education
Michael Carpenter - Financial Aid
IPFW Parking Pass
Roxanne Kingsbury - Continuing Studies
If you haven't enrolled, please go online and make your benefit choices, including those of you who wish to opt out or not take insurance for 2014. Anyone who does not enroll will be defaulted and automatically enrolled in the highest deductible plan, Purdue Health Plan HSA 2, without a Health Savings Account.
If you don't have your user name and password, visit the HR website for step-by-step instructions. For more information about open enrollment, visit the HR website or contact Tina Sullivan, 481-6683, or the Purdue Customer Service toll-free number, 877-725-0222.

Enhance Students' Classroom Experience with
Tegrity Lecture Capture
Now is a great time to begin thinking about your spring classes and the tools you can provide your students to reinforce their learning and your instruction. IPFW IT Services provides, at no cost to your department, a wonderful cloud-based lecture capture tool, Tegrity, that will record your content from class (classroom audio, instructor station desktop sharing such as a PowerPoint, video of the instructor, and overhead document camera sharing).
Tegrity is easy to use for both instructors and students. It can be loaded on your classroom workstation, office workstation, or personal laptop. You have the ability to record instruction from the comfort of your office or home----truly lending itself to the "flipped classroom" concept. Typically, classes are available on our cloud-based storage system within 45 minutes of your class being recorded, so your students can review the content on demand from campus, at home, or on their mobile device.
For more information on Tegrity and how this tool can enhance your students' classroom experience, contact Mike Phillips, philma03@ipfw.edu or 481-0209.

Angel Fund Online Auction
The Center for Women and Returning Adults (CWRA) needs your help in launching their third annual online Angel Auction to benefit the Christine Zielinski Angel Fund. The fund is administered through the CWRA to help struggling students weather short-term financial crises that threaten their ability to complete their studies. Since its creation in 1998, the Angel Fund has provided emergency grants to more than 130 IPFW students. The fund is not self-perpetuating and depends on the generosity of faculty, staff, alumni, and others to sustain it.
The CWRA is seeking donations of new or gently used gift items suitable for the auction, which is set for Monday, December 2, through Friday, December 13. Items must be in hand by Friday, November 22, in order to be cataloged and posted on the bidding webpage. Items can be dropped off at the CWRA office in Walb Union, Room 120 (next to the information desk) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday--Friday. If you need someone to pick up your items or if you have questions, call 481-6029.
