Truven Informed Enrollment Tool Available Now
two_doctors.jpg
Faculty and staff can get an estimate of their total cash outlay under each of Purdue's 2014 medical plans by using the Truven Informed Enrollment tool, which is ready now. Truven Informed Enrollment starts with the employee's medical and prescription drug claims having dates of service between April 2012 and March 2013. Truven then shows how the employee would fare under each of the 2014 medical plan options, if the employee had similar expenses next year. Estimates take into account premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, and any contributions that Purdue will make to the employee's health savings account (HSA). Web Options at IPFW
IT Services offers several options for delivering content to the campus community and the world-at-large:
  • If your goal is to provide information to anyone on the Internet, review the Web Space Options at IPFW.
  • If you want to provide content to students in your class, use Blackboard Learn 9.1
  • If you want to securely collaborate with specific faculty and staff, Vibe is your best option

IT Services is available to help evaluate your needs and determine the best available tool to accomplish your goal. If you would like a consultation, contact the Help Desk at [email protected] or 481-6030. You may also sign up for free training on any of these options at the IT Services website.

Be on the Lookout for Spam
Don and laptop Due to an increase in spam targeted directly at IPFW faculty, staff, and students, it is extremely important to be on the lookout for potential account security risks:
  • If the message that appears to be spam does not come from "@ipfw.edu," it is spam. Nobody other than IPFW ITS Services has the ability to do anything with your account.
  • If the message threatens to disable your account or wants you to validate your account, it is spam. IT Services will never disable anyone's account without their knowledge.
  • If the message does not contain IPFW Help Desk information in the signature, it is most likely spam.
  • Most importantly, if the message asks for your password, it is spam. IT Services, or any legitimate business, would never ask for an account password via email.

If you are still unsure if a message is spam, please forward the message as an attachment to [email protected].
