Tips on New Copier Card Readers
copier drawing
The new copier card readers are reading the wide mag stripe at the bottom. Be sure to swipe the card in the manner that allows that to happen. Do not swipe the card in a quick motion. If you see an error when swiping your card, try swiping it slower. When you are finished copying, press "Done" on the reader's touch screen. The card readers are set up to remain idle for one minute and then time out. This is a system-wide default to protect the person or department from having copies made should they forget to press "Done." The timeout should not occur while the copier is making copies.

Departments will be charged 6 cents a side as in the old card system. When you first create your copies it will show a 10 cent charge, but when the job is complete the balance you see on the card reflects just 6 cents a charge. The standard rate is 10 cents
a side for both IPFW and Purdue, but departments get a discount. The system shows the standard rate, but when the copy charges are calculated the departments receive the 40 percent discount.

Price is New Director of CASA
The Academic Success Center is pleased to welcome Barton E. Price, Ph.D., as the new associate director for the Center for Academic Success and Advancement (CASA).
