Candidates for Academic Affairs Post to Visit IPFW Next Week
The search committee assisting Chancellor Vicky L. Carwein in the selection of the university's next Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs has invited two candidates to visit the campus the week of February 11. The two candidates are Kenneth Stokes, Ph.D., chief international affairs officer and executive director of the Institute for International Innovation Management in Washington, D.C.; and Jeffrey R. Anderson, Ph.D., dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and professor of mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wis. Featured Faculty 2013: Leaders in Research
featured faculty IPFW's Featured Faculty were formally introduced at a luncheon on January 18. The group includes Abdullah Eroglu, associate professor of engineering; Peter Dragnev, professor of mathematics, and Elaine Blakemore, professor of psychology. This year's theme is "Leaders in Research."

Each faculty member will present a lecture highlighting his or her research beginning February 13 with Eroglu's lecture, "Electromagnetic Devices and Applications." The remaining lectures will be on consecutive Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. in the Walb Student Union, Room G-21. They are free and open to the public and a light lunch will be provided. Register Your Social Media Outlets
If your department or office has an official Facebook page, Twitter account, Tumblr blog, YouTube channel, or other social media outlet, you need to register that outlet with IPFW University Relations. The registration is part of both Purdue's social media policy and the existing IPFW social media policy.

Student Research and Creative Endeavor Poster Symposium, Call for Entries
The 2013 Student Research and Creative Endeavor Symposium provides students an excellent opportunity to present posters on their research to audiences of faculty and student peers. Students in all disciplines are encouraged to enter. Posters will be judged with monetary awards given for first, second, third and People's Choice awards. The 2013 symposium all-poster format is new for 2013; the Office of Research, Engagement, and Sponsored Programs will provide funding for poster production. The symposium will be April 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Helmke Library Learning Commons. Read the details ... 
Invitation to IPFW White Out
Join IPFW men's basketball this Saturday, February 9, at "White Out." Walgreens will give away 1,000 white IPFW t-shirts and JH Specialty will donate 1,000 rally towels. The men will play North Dakota State at the Gates Sports Center; game time is 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online, by calling 481-6555 or 481-6372, or at the Larson Ticket Office in the Athletics Center.
The men will also be in action Thursday at 7 p.m. against South Dakota State at the Memorial Coliseum. 
Basketball with the Chancellor
Chancellor Vicky Carwein invites faculty and staff members and a guest to join her at this Saturday's Men's Basketball game against North Dakota State. The game is in the Gates Sports Center and begins at 7 p.m. Seats are limited, so the pairs of tickets will be given out on a first-asked basis. Ticket recipients are also invited to join Chancellor Carwein at a pre-game reception at 6 p.m. in the International Ballroom. Please RSVP to Keli Kostoff at  kostoffk@ipfw.edu
Third Annual Black Tie Gala
Black Tie Once a year the Hospitality Management Association holds a fundraising banquet. Everything about the banquet----planning, marketing, and food preparation, including the serving----is done by the students under a chef's supervision.
