Tumwater Parks & Recreation teamed up with PARC Foundation to celebrate National Trails Day on Saturday, June 6. Volunteers spent the morning removing invasive Scotch broom and blackberry bushes throughout Tumwater Hill Trail at our volunteer work party. Volunteers were able to enjoy a hike through the trail together after completing the project. Thank you volunteers for helping keep Tumwater Hill Trail in great shape!
Join us for a Storm Drain Marking Blitz
Stream Team and the City of Tumwater will be hosting a Storm Drain Marking Blitz on Sunday, July 12! We will be applying educational markers to neighborhood storm drains to remind people of the connection between storm drains and our local lakes, streams, and groundwater. This is a great activity for community groups and families!

Over 250 8th grade students from Bush Middle School participated in a day of service with the City of Tumwater at Pioneer Park. Each year, the Tumwater School District hosts Transition Day, to help prepare students for high school. This year, Bush Middle School partnered with the City of Tumwater to provide a service learning opportunity for their students. Student volunteers removed invasive plants with the Stream Team, completed a baseball field project with Tumwater Parks & Recreation, and took a break in the Fun Zone also provided by Parks & Recreation. Thank you to the students, staff members, and volunteers who participated in the Transition Day events.
